The Facility Supervisor is responsible for interacting positively with members, staff and guests. The goal of the Member Services Department is to satisfy, retain and involve members in the YMCA. The Facility Supervisor is responsible for supervising the facility to ensure appropriate facility usage, positive participant experience and a clean safe environment.



  • AGE: Eighteen years or older


  • EDUCATION: High school diploma; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • SPECIALIZED SKILLS: Strong character values; communication skills; problem solving skills
  • RELATED EXPIERENCE: 1 year of supervisory experience preferred



  • You must have the physical, visual, and auditory ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Bend, stoop, be able to lift at least 45 lbs and be able to stand for periods of time up to 1 hour.



Program Management

  1. Ensure a welcoming environment in assigned YMCA Program.
  2. Assists in the monitoring of the facility
  3. Performs building walk through's, making presence known and at all times.
  4. Checks and secures all program areas, closes and locks all doors (interior and exterior), shuts off lights and secures all windows as needed throughout shift.
  5. Check saunas steam rooms and locker rooms every 20 minutes.
  6. Maintains facility cleanliness by picking up trash, cleaning up spills, etc. as needed.
  7. Assists various facility program areas with incident/accident reporting.
  8. Ensures all opening and closing procedures are completed daily.
  9. Assists various program areas with set-up and break down needs for scheduled classes and programs in the facility


Member Engagement

  1. Warmly and enthusiastically greet members by name with a smile and eye contact. Anticipate member's needs and provide a high level of customer service.
  2. Be able to effectively problem solve, taking full responsibility to remedy the situation and follow through to its completion.
  3. Provide members with opportunities that will increase their involvement, sense of belonging and ownership of the YMCA. Involve a minimum of one members in a meaningful volunteer opportunity including the annual support campaign.
