Overview: The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking a cause-driven family specialist to lead the YMCA Early Learning Readiness program for our YMCA branches in the highest-need regions of LA County. The YMCA Early Learning Readiness (ELR) Program creates a stimulating environment for young children to play and learn alongside their caregiver or parent, while developing the physical, verbal, social, and emotional skills they'll need to successfully begin pre-K and for continued learning. The YMCA ELR program enhances language development, improves cognitive development and nurture creativity in early learners. It helps children to build relationships as they learn through play. The ELR program provides an informal setting with multiple "play" stations and allows for both children and their caregivers to learn how to encourage learning and skill-building at home. ELR classes feature age-appropriate activities that encourage children to problem solve and think creatively. Adult caregivers attend the classes with their early learning, allowing them to play an integral part in their child's learning and development. For this particular region, the program is at no cost to the participants. The ELR program typically runs on multiple weekly session blocks throughout the year, with classes typically being held once or twice a week, for two (2) hours, during the mid-morning/afternoon, for up to 20-30 children and their caregivers/parents.

In this role, the Family Resource Director would be responsible for leading the implementation of the YMCA Early Learning Readiness program at two (2) YMCA branches in the East Los Angeles and Southeast Los Angeles. Each location would have a lead program facilitator and program interns (based on the size of the program and number of weekly classes); the Family Resource Director would be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, hiring, training and evaluating program facilitators and interns for each location.
